Vail Resorts announced it would begin construction of the Skyway Skiway development in Breckenridge, two years ahead of schedule, Spring 2005.
The Skyway Skiway development in Breckenridge is now set to start two years ahead of schedule, this spring. Vail Resorts moved the project's start date up due to a high demand in presales of the new phase of Mountain Thunder Lodge located on Park Avenue. The Skiway will cost between $4,000,000 to $5,000,000 and open for ski season in the fall of 2006. The Skiway will take Peak 8 skiers and snowboarders straight to their cars parked in the day-skier parking lots in downtown Breckenridge.
| The Skiway will make the Mountain Thunder Lodge ski-in property and the new phase of townhomes' completion will coincide with the completion of the Skiway in fall 2006. Breckenridge Mayor Ernie Blake is hopeful that the early success of real estate sales at Mountain Thunder Lodge will advance the gondola community project, a partnership between the Ski Area (Vail Resorts) and the Town of Breckenridge. The Breckenridge community gondola project would allow for skiers and snowboarders to be lifted to the base of Peak 8 from the town.
